Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser over exact factor tables — the page makes no network requests with your data. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools or disconnect from the network after the page loads.

How exact are the conversions?

Exact by definition: the inch is 25.4 mm, the pound is 0.45359237 kg, and temperatures convert through kelvin with full offsets. Display rounds to eight significant digits; the math underneath does not.

Why do temperatures need offsets while the rest use factors?

Length, mass, volume and pressure scales all start at true zero, so one multiplication converts them. Celsius, Fahrenheit and Rankine start elsewhere, so they route through kelvin: convert in, subtract or add the offset, convert out.

US gallons or UK gallons? Which ton?

Both are listed explicitly — gal (US) versus gal (UK), metric tonne versus US ton — because mixing them is a classic billion-dollar-class mistake. When a document just says “gallon”, check the country before converting.

What about flow, energy or force units?

Flow has its own tool with reference conditions and compressibility. Energy, force and power are separate converters on the roadmap in the Industrial family.
